All the new tech is really nice, the new idrive is amazing. But it's really up to you if you've driven both and you think the 340 is better then go for it. if you're going to tune it as well, the 340 has insane tuning potential, much more than you'd get out of the 330i. I have done a few things, such as FSU, Cam position sensor, and rebuilt axles. The 2 sensors ran me about $50 each, and took maybe 30 mins to do. Very easy and cheap. E90 330i's are great cars for the money. A friend of mine has one and drives it everyday without a problem. If you do not want to deal with the fuel pump issues with the 335i, I would definitely get the 330i.

Price is still to be negotiated, but I would like your honest opinion on what sort of issues will this car have in the next 5 years / 100,000 miles?

2006 BMW 330i 45,000 mi, Visitor. Oil smell inside car, was result of oil gasket leak due to two broken bolts. Mechanic indicated that this is a common problem and there is a service bulletin that adjusts the torque specs when installing new bolts. Cost was $800.

I wouldn't go lower than 335i as I could keep my E46 330i which has about the same power as a E90 330i. Leaking oil filter housing gaskets are the most common issue with all E90 engines, and you will hardly find an engine that hasn’t had this problem at some time. I just noticed that when remotely locking (or unlocking) my car, even pressing the button on the dash, my passenger side door doesn't respond. What i would like to buy is a Used 2006 BMW 330i (e90). I have found some in that price range but i have a few questions, chief among witch is reliability and build quality. First and formost, I am a student and dont have the time and or money to appease a generally unreliable car. So it begs the question, how reliable/well built is the 330i? b5QtG.
